"I have horrible depth perception, but really good spacial awareness." (week 69)

Transfer week!! Skip to last paragraph if all you want is transfer news:) For all others…
Moday was New Years Eve. It was P-day, and then at 6 we were on lockdown unless we were with a member. So we had red beans and rice at a members house and played Taboo and it was the BEST!
Tuesday was New Years Day (Happy Birthday Dad!). We had lunch with the bishop, then we went on quite the adventure trying some people in the area. We almost got our car stuck in mud. Then we had pretty much the best lesson with our Muslim friend. She is building her faith in Christ every day, and she KNOWS He is her Savior. She is so pure I love her.
Wednesday my favorite part of the day was walking around downtown on our way to do service and the world was just really pretty.
Thursday was basically service and weekly planning and it was agonizing.
Friday we had another awesome lesson, this time with our friend Justin. This was our first time teaching him. The story of the first vision really spoke to him. He actually loved the part where Satan tried to stop Joseph from praying. We told him that Satan often fights his hardest right when we are about to do something good, and he loved that. Then some people we are teaching took us to a Hindu Temple! It was cool but very different. I learned a lot, but it made me grateful for our worship services and for the spirit I always feel there. Then we went to get seafood and I tried oysters for the first time!!! They tasted good, but everyone is so right about the texture. It is weird.
Saturday we were visited by an Apostle and some general authorities. That is always way cool. We didn’t get as much time with them as we would have liked, but it was still awesome. We also had a ysa devotional with some of them, and we actually had some non-members come to that!
Sunday was more time with the general authorities, and we had more people come to our special stake conference. Then my roommates had a bit of a mental breakdown because of the stress of transfers. They went from crying to laughing to screaming to wandering around the apartment aimlessly. I was just kind of out of it and watched them lose their minds. After that we put our heads on straight and kept working, but for a minute there that was a struggle.
Monday was not p-day sadly. We had lots of appointments though to keep us busy. I was really distracted though waiting for transfer calls. Finally we got them and I am staying at LSU which I’m so happy about! Both Elders are leaving and we are getting Elders Smith and Ritchie. And I am getting Sister Curzon for my new companion, and I don’t know her at all so we will see. But I’m excited!! Last transfer here I come!!
I love y’all so much!!
