“That was supposed to be a donkey. It’s a Hershey’s Kiss.” (week 64)
Hello hello. Here I am back in Baton Rouge. It actually feels like home
here so things are going well :) The YSA is really different though. We
are busy all the time, but it is a fun busy because it feels like we are
just hanging out with friends all the time, but instead we are doing
missionary work. It’s great I highly recommend it.
Tuesday was pday. We mostly chilled with our district and signed
transfer journals and played sports. Then we went to institute and said
goodbye to our people.
Wednesday was transfers. I love transfer days because it is like a quick
mission reunion and I get to see all my friends. Once I got with Sister
Merrill we were busy till the end of the day with appointments and
such. It was great. It was hard to force myself to unpack that night
though.
Thursday we did free speech alley and it was great. Then family history with a recent convert, then coordination, then institute.
Friday was district council with the new group. They are pretty chill.
Then that night we did Santa at the Senate!! I did it last year and it
was so fun. We go to the Old State Capital and we get elf hats and we
help little kids do crafts while they wait in line for Santa one girl told me how much she loved my lipstick and it made my day.
Saturday was the worldwide day of service, and we went all out. We
started with the food bank in the morning. Then in the afternoon we did a
trash pickup around town. Then that night we make cards and cookies and
caroled to members that might need a pick me up. People came and it was again just like hanging out with friends.
Sunday was church. I love this ward. Then we had some appointments, then
we did weekly planning, then we watched the First Presidency Christmas
Devotional and it was superb.
All in all it was a pretty good week. I hope y’all are doing well too!!
Enjoy the snow those who have it because it’s like 70 degrees here! Love
y’all!!!
