"Hurricanes and tomatoes" (Week66)
What. A. Week. I don't even know if it was that crazy, but coming out on this side it felt kind of nuts.
Pday was awesome. We hung out at an outdoor mall with some friends in the YSA. We took lots of pictures and they are adorable.
This week we did lots of practice lessons with members to practice asking more questions so that the person we are teaching is doing the most talking, and it is a lot more effective.
We had the most awesome day with our friend Blaise! We had a lesson about finding answers to our prayers, and we asked him to say a kneeling prayer with us and ask if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if this is God's church. And let me tell you, the spirit was tangible. I could feel it in my lungs which was weird. After the prayer we sat there in amazing silence. Then he whispered "it's true... It's true."
And that was just the happiest moment.
Now for something a little less happy. We found this amazing girl the other week. She was so excited about our message and kept thanking us for knocking on her door. When we came back to share the book of Mormon with her she kept saying "why haven't I heard of this before, this sounds amazing." She was so excited for church and we were so happy for her. Then she talked to her youth minister, and he strongly advised her not to come. So she took that as an answer to a prayer and she dropped us and I literally felt like someone had just broken up with me. In preach my gospel it talks about loving people and desiring their salvation, but it is a painful thing when they reject the gospel. It makes sense why the only sorrow the 3 Nephites feel is for the sins of the world.
We also went on exchanges this week and we found a cool yard full of statues for sale. And a dude that has hundreds of plants that he sells out of his yard and I bought a decorative cabbage plant for a dollar.
Ok that's the main stuff. Hope y'all are getting pumped for Christmas because I am. Remember that Christ's birth wouldn't be significant without his life and death. I love y'all!!!!!
Out of context quotes:
"Hurricanes and tomatoes."
"I don't really want to knock on someone's door and ask if ISIS is here."
"The plan of salivation"
"You are like really tan for someone who is pale."
"It might could be getting gone."
"That was a dumb question, kneecaps don't change shape."
