"Like nail polish, gospel dispensations need to be reapplied." (Week 54)

Hi family and friends! How are you? The short version of the week is I got sick and we had a baptism and I met a famous person. Here is the slighter longer version.

Monday we were in Denham Springs for an appointment, then we drove home, played some board games, then had a cool multifamily dinner with some members and the family we are teaching.

Tuesday we did some service, then I started feeling sick, and that lasted for the next 3 days, so not too much happened. We did act as judges for a lip sync battle that the youth did. That was awesome.

So skipping to Saturday, we had an awesome day. We had another BAPTISM!! Joe got baptized. He works off-shore, so most of our lessons have been over the phone. He is a funny character. The baptism went great. Cool thing, his son and the sons fiancĂ©e are deaf, and they came. So I was able to sign to them, and get to know them and explain some things. They wanted to see the chapel, so we took them there and I explained the sacrament and what it is to be a Christian, and I invited them to learn the things that we taught Joe. They don't live in our area, so we sent their info  to those missionaries. It was really cool. Then we had a lesson, then so much FINDING! It was so humid and my hair got so frizzy but it was great. Then we had another awesome lesson with our awesome family. Then an awesome dinner appointment with our recent convert (from before I got here).

Sunday was just as crazy. We had church, Joe got confirmed and I gave a talk. It was normal. Then we started driving down to Baton Rouge again because Sister White's former companion is going home for emergency surgery, so we went to give her a last little hurrah in the mission home. When we got there, turns out the Nashville Tribute Band guy Jason Deer was doing a fireside, so we got to go watch that. I got to see so many friends. He even had all the missionaries come up for one of the songs. Then afterwards, President Varner felt he should ask him if he had somewhere to eat dinner, and he didn't, so he came over to the mission home and ate dinner with us! He told stories and bore testimony and took pictures with us, and it was really special.

So the end of my week made up for the boring rest of the week. Hopefully this week is more consistent. Also kind of scary fact, I have 150 days/5 months left. How weird is that. This is going to be the best time ever. It already is:) I love you all! Talk to you next week!!
