I'm not a primate in a cage telling you to throw some sort of excriment at people and see if they stick around." (week 42)
Hey fam and friends! So crazy thing, I'm in a trio now! Sister Coon used
to serve here in Denham, but I took her spot. Then her new companion
got sick and went home a couple weeks early. So they sent her back here!
I was a little stressed at first but things are going great. But let me
tell you about my week.
Pday was lit! We had a water party (no pools obviously) with the youth and it was great. A ton came. I made friends with this little 5 year old Julie and I love her. Then I had one of the funniest dinner appointments ever.
Tuesday we had district meeting where I gave the instruction. Always a pleasure😑 Then that night we had another dinner appointment with our FLDS family which was a total mess but we will get there:)
Wednesday we had service at A Door Of Hope where we mostly cleaned. Then it was Sister Washburns turn to get a head ache so she slept for a bit. Then we went to mutual where Elder Dover shared his conversion story, and it is amazing!! He is a convert from Guyana so you can guess that it is quite the story.
Thursday we helped a member move. Then while we were doing study and planning, Pres called us in for interviews and that was pretty normal. Then we had a dinner appointment.
Friday we did thrift store service and I got more cool things. Then we got a call from President again. This time telling us that Sister Coon is coming BACK and we are going to be in a trio! What the heck! So then we went to the mission office to get like another bed and all that jazz, and they were in the process of moving in like 100 boxes of missionary materials from the Jackson mission office, so we stayed and helped:) Things are going to be crazy for the next little bit:)
Saturday we picked up Coon, then had a little choir practice. Then us three went to see an investigator and got her PUMPED for church tomorrow, with many 'amen's and 'yes Jesus' and scriptures etc. Hopefully she will come:) Then we had a lunch appointment at a Chinese Buffett where I ate way too much. Then we went back to the mission office to drop off some stuff, and ended up staying for another few hours helping them sort bibles and pamphlets etc. Then we all started a mission fast together for unity with the Jackson mission.
Sunday was many much church. That night we had another one of the funniest dinner appointments ever, actually at the same house as on Monday. Also everyone look up the Reflections of Christ video, then the Another Testiment reflections video.
So that was my week. Pretty great. The 3 of us are getting along awesome and have been laughing a lot! So this should be good. I hope y'all are doing well! I'm loving it out here! The church is true, the book is blue, Jesus was a Mormon too!!
Out of context quotes;
"I'm not a primate in a cage telling you to throw some sort of excriment at people and see if they stick around."
"He looks like a crackhead and I am not letting in my car." "Yeah and then 3 children later."
"Police can't do anything. I have the authority to stop the bullet."
"I don't think the priesthood works like that."
"I'm going to be a good father by teaching my children to kill wasps with a bb gun."
"I'm going to save save this fudge for a special Asian."
"Don't talk, just smell my peppers."
*man says to his wife* "If you had man hands I'd like you a lot better."
"Jawlines make the best husbands."
