"I got the dimwit." "What did you call me?" "Darling." (Week 45)
Hey y'all! It's transfer week! I'm staying in good Ole Denham Springs
and getting Sister Oaks from the former Mississippi mission, and
Washburn and Coon are out. This week was another busy one. With lots of
service and awesome people.
Monday was a whole lot of shopping. I freaking love bath and body works and Michael's. Then that night a member got us pizza then took us to help some people move in.
Tuesday was Elder Dover's "funeral" because he is leaving this week. I will send pictures. We did the whole thing: fake flowers, fake crying, the works. Then we did service calling bingo at the old folks home. I love old people with no filters. That night we had a really cool lesson with a guy that I just KNOW is going to get baptized one day.
Wednesday we helped at the Baptist version of the bishops storehouse. They sent us home with 9 loaves of bread😐 Then we helped at A Door of Hope where Coon and I once again got headaches. I hate the summer. Eventually we recovered and visited a struggling convert, who honestly is doing so much better thanks for asking.
Thursday was ward coordination where they fed us spaghetti, then comp study and weekly planning. We did it at the church and brought snacks to help us focus.
Friday was awesome. We had thrift store service where I found some marvel t-shirts :) Then we had some lessons with people we are teaching. Both are older ladies that are just the sweetest people. The first one was with B. We talked about the plan of Salvation and what makes us different from other churches. My favorite moment was when we told her about the 3 kingdoms, and she was like "oh I thought it was something like that! Because of something it says in the Bible about different levels of crowns... etc." Guys she is so prepared. She kept thanking us when we gave her a Book of Mormon:) Then we had a lesson with E where we talked about baptism and she wants to get baptized so now she is praying about a date!! Then I taught one of the senior couples how to do her eyebrows, then we helped set up for a wedding reception.
Saturday was yet more service. We helped a lady paint some furniture. Mom we used chalk paint! Then that night was the reception. It was mostly ward members there. And it was so beautiful! It was my favorite colors! Guys I got so many ideas. It was weird though. The bride was younger than me and that messes with my mind. People keep saying it will be here before I know it and just ahhhhh😓
Sunday we sang in church! Both wards. We sang a medley of Come Thou Fount and If You Could Hie To Kolob and it went great. Sister Coon kept a count and we got 73 compliments on our song between the two wards.
Monday was transfer calls! So now I'm with Sister Oaks, she will be my 8th companion in 8 transfers which is fun. Probably going to keep up that trend. But I am pretty excited:) Nearly every single person is getting a new comp, so this should be fun😂😂
This is getting long so I'm going to end it. I love y'all and I hope you have a great week filled with ice cream and Jesus and friendship. Talk to yall next week!
Out of context quotes:
"I didn't know ghosts had dental issues."
"Everyone names their dogs flora fauna and Merriweather and it's not okay."
"That is not a splash pad, it's a mushroom with sprinkles, you could get baptized into the catholic church with that thing."
"Dating is like the Alma war chapters. Obtain the girl by strategem!"
"I got the dimwit."
"What did you call me?"
"Darling."
"Why can't you give my dad a hug? He's way too old for you!"
"Stop being weird, it's reverent time."
"The only thing my mom teaches me to do is drug. She's crazy."
"You're really good singers. The only level I'm on is glass breaking."
