"Does the spirit make you want to throat punch your brother?" (Week 43)
Hey y'all! What is up my people? I am doing great. This week felt like a fast one for me.
Monday we did shopping and Chick-fil-A and church volleyball before visiting a member and eating potatoes.
Tuesday we spent some good time figuring out music for various things that we have been asked to sing at. We also had some weekly planning that we had missed, and dinner with my best friend little Julie Jett. I will send pictures. My mom says she is a little tan version of me at that age and I couldn't agree more.
"Today we did God Bless America." to quote Sister Coon. For the 4th we had lunch at the Ete's and I was adopted as an honorary Samoan. Then we went to another families house for dinner and for the life of me I can't remember their name but they put on the most amazing firework display ever and again I will send a video.
Thursday we helped at the Baptist version of the Bishops storehouse and it was awesome. They are almost as organized as the Mormons! Then we got lunch at Popeyes which made us sick so we were MIA until our dinner appointment with brother 'trouble' Fontenot.
Friday was ZONE CONFERENCE! I got to see all of my mission friends:) We (Coon, Washburn, and I with Johnston on piano) sang Gethsemane and it went awesome:) Should be on Facebook. Then we had dinner at a recent convert/investigator family's house.
Saturday was weird. We sang at this big family history event in Baton Rouge, and then last second I was asked to teach a class and no one showed up! I waited and waited and nothing. There were just too many classes and that one got looked over. Kind of a bummer but it's okay. After lunch we tried some people and we went with the Elders to find someone that needed a blessing and we filmed some role plays of us street contacting and tracting and they were pretty great. Then as we were on our way to our dinner appointment the spirit kept telling us not to go, so we canceled, and I don't know what could have happened but I'm okay with not finding that out.
Sunday was church church church. We were led by the spirit though and went to classes and talked to people we wouldn't normal talk to/go to.
So yeah that's my week. We are still rocking the trio life. Doing awesome. The rains come down and the temperature comes up, but it's great because AC exists. Hope y'all are doing great!! I love you!!
Out of context quotes:
"I get cold when people talk when I'm eating so I'm plugging my ears."
"Do you want bread? No I just got a haircut."
Nothing like the smell of gun powder at 9 pm. God bless America.
