"I want an Asian man to come and give ME superpowers!" (Week 38)
Y'all this week was crazy! I hit my half way point,
Whitney got married, we found so many new investigators, there were some
minor inconveniences but it's okay. Up and down but I freaking loved
it!! Let me just tell you about it.
Tuesday was P-day. We had lunch at the Smiths, then one of the Elders suggested we do a craft. So we got my paints and some rocks and went to the church and painted them☺ It was a party.
Wednesday started out great. We had a lesson with M about the gospel of Jesus Christ. She loves the Book of Mormon and everything we talk about, we just need to get her to church. The spirit keeps telling us that she isn't going to change until she feels the spirit that can be felt in our church. Then after that I was feeling nauseous and my head hurt so I slept:)
Happy Birthday Skyler!!! Thursday I was still a little sick so we got out late. Then we went to a members house and helped her put together her food storage. It's quite extensive. Then we helped another member with her family history. Then we had dinner at the Zachary's.
Friday was a little bit interesting. Our ward mission leader got us an appointment with one of his co-workers last minute, so we ran over and taught her at his house. He decided to bring up our deepest doctrine ever, i.e. we can be gods one day. But it actually turned out okay. Then we had some appointments. One with a referral, another with a less active and her family. Both went really well. Then we went BACK to the ward mission leaders house for dinner and ward coordination and he showed up an hour late, then had us drive 20 minutes to where we were actually eating and it was just a mess.
Saturday was significant for many reasons, 1. It was one year since I graduated. 2. It was my HALF WAY MARK! 3. My sister got MARRIED!!! Just so many things. It was a really good day. We found a really cool investigator that has SO much potential. We also had a bomb weekly planning session. Then at the end of the day it all just hit me that I am half way done and Whitney is married and just AHHHH I don't even know what is real anymore!
Sunday we finally had an investigator come to church!! And that was one of the most powerful testimony meetings I have ever been in. The theme was really the importance of going to the temple, keeping your covenants, so we can all be saved as God's family in the celestial kingdom. Of course I got up and bore my testimony of this because how could I not? Seeing as a sealing just occurred in my family:) Then after church we had some cool miracles. We were running really low on Books of Mormon, so God made some materialize in our apartment/car. Completely serious, actual miracle. Almost cried. Then we got the most amazing investigator. She has Mormon family members and used to meet with missionaries but didn't feel ready then but she feels ready now. There are so many things with her situation that is just perfect. I am so excited for her. Then we had dinner at the Deford's where we watched the prophets youth devotional. Shout out to the familiar faces in the choir:)
So yeah lots of emotions for me. But the strongest one really has been love. Love for my family and friends, love for the people in this area, and love for the Lord. He has blessed me in so many ways and I am so grateful for this chance to serve him. I hope everyone is able to feel that love this week. Just let it happen. I love you all so much, and I will talk to you next week!!
