"All this Wi-Fi is giving us cancer." (Week 39)
Y'all we got transfer news!! Jensen is staying in Natchitoches and
TRAINING and I am going to DENHAM SPRINGS with SISTER WASHBURN! I was in
the MTC with Washburn and she is the most fantastic missionary and I
LOVE HER! I'm gonna miss Jensen and my district a lot, but that is
life.
Also I guess they normally get stuff sent to the mission office because it's close and we will go there all the time, but here is both addresses.
Mission Office: 25367 Riverton Ave Denham Springs LA 70726
Apartment Address: 31050 Highway 1
Tuesday was interesting. For district meeting we had a funeral for Elder Winn. We made a little shrine for him and gave a plan of salvation talk and his mission life sketch. Then each of us got up and said our final remarks about him. I was so close to making myself cry, but I started laughing too hard so I couldn't. I shared some funny stories I had gotten from his past companions. It was awesome. Then we went to DQ for lunch. Then after lunch our car wouldn't start! Thankfully the Many elders were still there and we able to get some help, and a good Samaritan gave us a jump, so we weren't stranded. We called the mission car people and they said to take it into the shop to get a new battery. By the time that was done and we got home it was time for us to come in for dinner and comp study anyway.
Wednesday was also different. Spoiler alert, I'm not perfect. I have been thinking a lot about things that I know I can do better, but today I was pretty done with myself. We tried going out and seeing people, but no one was home. Sister Jensen asked me several times if she thought we should continue with our plan or change it. She knew I needed something else. So we went back home and I studied for a while and called the mission President and got his advice, and now I feel so much better, and am one step closer to being the missionary and disciple I want to be. Y'all! You don't have to struggle by yourself!
Thursday we did service at the geneology library. All the cute old ladies that work there invited us to join their lunch break, and we got to tell them all about missions and we shared childhood memories and it was so cute. Then that night at the Zachary's, more members of their extended family came and they had a stake cook off:)
Friday was one of those days where nothing worked. We had all 5 of our appointments cancel, so we tried seeing SO many people and no one could or wanted to talk to us. To top it off, our most progressing investigator called and dropped us because her preacher dad said so. Kind of a bummer. But God is still good and we will be blessed for trying.
Saturday was another strike out day. Everyone but one less active family cancelled. But that was a pretty fun appointment so it's okay.
Sunday was good. We had 2 investigators come to church! Then at the Deford's then at the Zachary's we practiced teaching the missionary lessons as an assignment from the mission President, and that was pretty fun:)
Monday we actually got transfer calls really early. Pres called us at about 1 and told us we were the first ones. Again I am going to Denham Springs with Washburn and Jensen is training here:) That wasnt a suprise at all. All week the spirit has been telling me that I was going to Denham with Washburn. I am so excited! I spent most of the rest of the day just packing and cleaning. Then we did have a dinner appointment, then we went to the Deford's to say goodbye. They had some guests over for FHE, so I got to meet a newly returned missionary and his girlfriend and she is basically my best friend now.
So there's that. Also do you want to hear something funny? Jensen and I hit 9 months on Wednesday, and that is the day Jensen gets her trainee aka her child. She is going to come right on her due date!! How perfect is that! Ok now I'm done. I love you all!!!
Out of context quotes;
"All this Wi-Fi is giving us cancer."
"If they cancel this appointment I'm flying home."
"If you didn't flirt with everything that moves then maybe you would stay in an area for longer."
"That's so relatable."
