"Leprosy and a taco is the thing that finally grosses you out? Really?" (Week 31)

This week was nuts, and I loved it. Kind of unconventional, but so fulfilling.

Monday was P-day. We had lunch with members and chilled by the water again. Sister Long learned some housewife skills today.

Tuesday was zone conference, and it was sooo gooooood. I had just been feeling really down because we hadn't been seeing much success, and I was kind of losing hope. But then President Varner said something in his instruction that really helped. In the scriptures Christ said "my grace is sufficient", do you really believe him? I have never doubted that the church is true, but I do sometimes wonder if I am strong enough to make it. But I'm not the one doing everything. He is. I just have to try, and He will make it all okay. It was all very encouraging. Then we had interviews, and Pres said that I had the gift of discerning the spirit through music, so that's cool:) Then after zone conference we drove down to Baton Rouge because Sister Long had a follow-up dentist appointment the next day to check her healing.

We stayed with the sisters there, and we tried to get out early so Long could see some people before her appointment, but that companionship is kind of struggling, so Long went into STL mode and helped talk them through their problems. Then we went to the dentist and all is well. Then we went to meet a recent convert that Long had taught, and we ended up talking so long it was too late to drive back.

So Thursday we made sure we got out quicker. We don't feel bad about staying an extra day because those sisters really needed sister Long to help them. Then as we were driving home, we stopped to see a member, and we picked up her in-house nurse as an investigator! She used to be taught by the sisters in that area, but there aren't any sisters there anymore, so we got permission to start teaching her over the phone. She is already so prepared. Then when we got home we had the most amazing lesson with a recent convert E and I just love her. We went over plan of salvation and it was the best.

Friday was so missionary. We did Free Speech contacting at NSU and met some really awesome people there. Then had a lesson with an investigator the last sisters were teaching. Then we had an awesome lesson with a less active family. We are going to start preparing their youngest for baptism.

Saturday we went to the baptism for the other sisters investigator, and his cousin said he wanted to get baptized. That whole extended family is getting baptized one by one. So we will start teaching him! Then we visited a returning member, and had a really really awesome discussion about temples. Then we drove with a member to visit another less active, and again had a really awesome discussion about temples and the restoration and genealogy, and we helped her set some goals to get her back to the temple. Then we had our weekly meeting with the bishop, and this was the most productive one we have ever had!

Sunday we had a lot of less active members that we are working with come to church! Then we found a new investigator. Then we had our double meal appointments with our two favorite member families, which is always a great way to end the week.

So things are looking up. It has taken a bit to adjust to the area, but we are getting there. Thank y'all so much for your support! The church is true, God loves you, and I love you too!!
