"Kids skip a generation." (Week 32)
Hi family and friends!! I don't really know how to preface this email so here you go:)
Monday we chilled and ate gumbo at the church. Then we had a lesson with three younger boys, whose cousin just got baptized, and all three of those boys said they want to get baptized too! Then we had FHE and dinner (jambalaya) with the Donaho's. I'm a real Cajun.
Tuesday was really awesome. We saw a TON of people. Taught a good book of Mormon lesson to the mom of one of those boys from yesterday, took a walk with the nonmember wife of a member, visited one of the older widows of the ward, met with a less active who is just the sweetest lady, and tried a few more people who weren't home. Then we went and sat by the cane river by French street while we send some scriptures to some more investigstors. It was so beautifulš.
Wednesday we had exchanges, and it was pretty chill. Absolutely no one opened the door, but I got to see all my friends down in Alexandria which was fun:)
Thursday we had district meeting, then a lesson with little N. She is turning 8 and we are getting her ready for baptism. We brought the primary President and it went really well. Then we had comp study next to a lake and it was so relaxing. Then we had dinner at the Z's and E our recent convert that we inherited came! She has been busy so it had been a minute.
Friday we did Free Speech on campus. No one was really walking by today, but people were driving by, so we tried handing people book of Mormon pages that we printed off and pass along cards through their window. It was kind of hilarious. We also had a really awesome lesson with E about the atonement and grace. We listened to the talk "His Grace is Sufficient" by Brad Wilcox. Go listen to it if you haven't. If you have, listen to it again. That night some members took us out to get Mexican:)
Saturday started out way fun! We got to go to the alligator farm and see all sorts of gators and other animals!! We had taken time out of our p-day so that we could do this:) But then after that everything was just kind of meh and even our bishop cancelled on us.
Sunday we spoke in church. A girl from the ward gave her homecoming talk, so it was mission themed. Also just my luck, this was the one Sunday that the podium broke and they couldn't lower it! God has a sense of humor, he provides for the short jokes sometimes lol. Then we taught the law of chastity in gospel principles which is always sooo fuuunš¤. It actually went pretty well. Then we had our usual 2 meal appointments with our favorite families:)
I love you all so so so sooo much!! Keep going strong!!
Out of context quotes;
"That looks like pastel vomit."
"Cows can pet you. It's the south, anything goes."
"I made the art, now you have to eat your life."
"Kids skip a generation."
"On my way to obesity, ask me how it is going."
"Hamster machine guns are going to win our wars."
