“Suddenly my dad looked like Nicholas Cage and became a terrorist.” (Week 20)

This email is probably going to be the least exciting one because I just had P-day on Wednesday, and not a ton happened between then and now, but I will do my best.

So on P-day after emailing we went to the park and played sand volleyball for a good while. I think it was a mix of the rocks and stick that were in the sand, and the fact that some Elders get a little too excited when playing games, but three people ended up bleeding. Everyone is good now though. After p-day ended at 6, we drove to a member’s house, and they came with us to a lesson with our investigator C. Her fiancée L was supposed to be there but he had work. The lesson went awesome! We talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon, and read some with her, but she is reading a ton on her own. Her and Lee have read 13 chapters in like a week and a half and that is so rare from investigators! Things are just working out. She is close to getting a new job where she doesn’t have to work on Sundays, and they are talking about pushing their wedding date up so that they can get married sooner. Then after the lesson the members took us to Jimmy John’s and we found a funny sign.

Thursday we did service at the USS KIDD, then we went to visit this less active in a group home, but when we got there she politely asked us not to read or pray with her, and just to leave, because the demons in the room can read and hear, and she would be held responsible if they got inside our head. So we left. With the free time we had suddenly we tried some referrals, then went to a lesson with J and V. I had been a few weeks since we had seen them, and they hadn’t kept their commitment of reading, so we read some with them. Then we got a text to go to the library to read an email from President Varner, and turns out WE ARE OBSORBING THE JACKSON MISSISSIPPI MISSION minus the Shreveport stake ON JULY 1ST LIKE WHAT THE HECK! Our mission is literally going to double this summer. This is really cool and exciting but it also kind of freaks me out. But all will be well. The Lord has been preparing President and the rest of the mission for this change.

Friday Sister Bell was sick so she slept for a few hours while I painted. Eventually we went out and found a referral from a member who was interested in family history. She is pretty cool.
Saturday morning was also a little bit less productive. The rain came down like crazy, and the roads were flooded, so everyone cancelled in the morning. We did have fun playing out in the flooded parking lot. Closest we can get to swimming. Around lunch time though we went to get ice cream for one of the Elders birthdays. That was fun.

Then we spent a while trying to find some less actives that the ward mission leader asked us to visit. Everyone was either not home, or divorced from the one member that used to live there:/ Then that night I had the funniest dinner appointment ever. It was with the Jacobs who feed us regularly, and they brought their non-member friend who I’ve met and I just love. But the conversations we were having were just the weirdest and I was crying laughing.

Sunday L and H (C’s daughter) came to church!! C couldn’t come because she still doesn’t have that new job yet. But L participated in class, and H made friends in primary, and it was pretty exciting. Then we weekly planned that night.
Today we might be going down to Cajun village, and tonight we have a New Member FHE at the Bishop’s house which I’m pretty excited aboutJ

I somehow wrote much more than I thought I would. Also! We are getting phones this week (or next week) and I am really excited!!! So I will be able to read emails during the week, and watch videos that people send me easier (so please send them) and I will be on Facebook!! And next week is transfers so p-day will be on Tuesday, and if anyone just happens to be planning on sending me something, either do it really quick, or wait until I am able to let everyone know if I moved or notJ Okay now I’m done! I love you all!! Keep me updated!!!!
