Serendipity? Isn't that a zero calorie sweetener? (Week 2 MTC)
Well
hello again! What is up my family and friends?:) This week actually
went super fast for me. Fast because I was kept busy, this
is going to be a pretty long email. Some quick things first; RIP Skylers
bracelet, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. That eulogy was one of
the most touching things I've heard all week. And Jason, thank you so
much for the comic you drew! I love it. Family,
thank you for the necklace!! It's so cute! The days really do blend
together here though. It only takes a few hours to forget when something
happened. Thankfully I keep my trusty journal updated! My week as far
as emails go starts on Tuesday because that's
P-day.
So
Tuesday was kind of crazy. We had the usual P-day stuff, but that night
we had a devotional and Quentin L Cook came to talk to us!
There were actually a lot of tears. Some of them were because I just was
having a hard day, but then they changed because of Cooks testimony of
Christ. He has had some experiences that has given him a SURE witness of
Christ, and Christ directs his church, in
a more real and physical way than I think I've ever thought. It was
really good.
Then
Wednesday I had a really good lesson with an investigator about the
plan of Salvation, and Enos 1:27 fit perfectly in there and
you should all read that scripture if you haven't because it is really
good. We also played sand volleyball as a district, and that was really
fun. I'm not very good, but there was a lot of laughter. That night we
taught another investigator named Oogii. So
some of the investigators are members pretending to be investigators,
but we usually don't know for sure, but Oogii is a legit investigator,
they even told us. She is from Mongolia and left her family there so she
could come and get an education and she just
wants guidance. She doesn't have a lot of background knowledge so it is
all baby steps with her, but I have developed such a love for her.
Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday were normal, which actually means really good. We
had some good lessons, some that weren't perfect.
I'm getting closer with my companion, and really close with another
scripture in my district Sister Washburn. We decided that it's good we
aren't companions because we would just laugh all the time. She is so
loving and funny. Really the whole district is getting
closer. All of the Sisters get stuck in southern accents which is fun,
and the Elders are just insane. I also spent some time this week
painting.
Sunday
was a rollercoaster. My favorite thing was when we found a piano and
Sister Johnston played while Sister Washburn and I sang
alto and soprano respectively. But then the hardest part of the day was
that night after the devotional. A district in our branch was leaving
the next morning, and we said goodbye to them. That included our STL's, a
really fun musical theatre girl I've become
friends with, and Elder Hunsaker. Saying goodbye to him made me feel
like I was saying goodbye to all of my friends over again, so it wasn't
easy. But how blessed I am to have people that make saying goodbye so
hard. But I'm going to hear from y'all over the
next 18 months and see you when I get back so it's okay.
And
lastly Monday. I lost my CTR ring to the roof of the T3 building:( I
love my new TRC investigators! One is just like me, brown
hair and glasses, did musical theatre, and loves creepy medical stuff
and is a phlebotomist! We chatted to much and there was no enough
lesson, I'm learning. And our other on is an awesome sassy grandma who
has explored different Christian churches but some
of their stories don't add up, but we are able to answer a lot of
questions that other religions left unanswered. She is excited to read
the BOM and said she would be baptized when she knows it's true.
That's
all, I am sorry this one was so long. They probably won't stay that
long once I get in the field. And MY NEXT EMAIL MIGHT BE
FROM LOUISIANA!!! Oh goodness that is fast. Please continue to email and
send me pictures! I love hearing from everyone and seeing your faces!
You don't want to risk me forgetting what you look like;). I'll send
pictures in another email! Here are the out of
context quotes;
You aren't the black sheep, you're the purple sheep!
Don't let anyone tell you you are a walnut, you are a pistachio!
Serendipity? Isn't that a zero calorie sweetener?
Satan uses portals to steal my things, he will not win!
That's all! This is Sister Reid signing off here at the MTC, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
