"Any prayer with Amazing Grace bagpipes playing in the background is going to be a pretty majestic prayer.”(Week 7)

Hello my lovely humans!! How are you doing? I am doing great! I'm just going to get this out there, this was a really fun week, but honestly not very productive as far as real teaching goes. We still don’t have a car, and we can’t really bike to referrals up North. But we get rides to parties and that’s fun!! Usually I bring my journal to the library so I can remember details from the week, but I forgot so I will do my best.

Monday I think we just hung out in the city, and chilled by the Mississippi for a while. It was nice and windy so that was fun.

Tuesday I can’t really remember. One interesting thing, we got a text from the Relief Society Pres. to go visit a lady named M. She is about 50, autistic, her husband was recently put in prison for fraud, and she keeps falling and doesn’t really have the help that she needs. We went over there at the same time as a lady from the state dept. of adult services, so we double-teamed trying to meet her physical and spiritual needs. M really is a mess right now, and she needs help. She loved the company, and she got really happy when we prayed with her. She asked everyone there, even the state lady, to say a prayer, and M was so sweet. She is going to be a regular person that we visit.

Wednesday ended up being a day full of biking, but it was actually so fun. There is this really awesome, big lake by the LSU campus that we ended up biking around, and it was nice and cool outside, and I loved it.

Thursday was zone conference, and that took up most of the day. I had a lot of fun, meeting all these missionaries, but there was a lot of sitting and listening. But really I learned a lot. And guess what? They announced that we are getting smart phones and Facebook in January!! I’m pretty excited. Then we had a dinner appointment with the Jacobs (Young couple from Utah). Then I went to my first party with alcohol. Let me explain. We do service at the Old State Capital, and they were having a fundraiser that we agreed to help at, but turns out it was this big Halloween gala with an endless bar and food. And I had so much fun. Obviously I didn’t drink anything. We mostly showed a 12-minute movie about the history of the capital (which it basically a castle) and we told people about some games that they had. But people were all glammed up and there was music and gelato and I had a grand old time talking to these people. Hopefully it was beneficial. I will send pics.

Then Friday I woke up, and felt like crap and had absolutely no voice, so we took a half day and slept in a few hours. After lunch we biked to the institute building so we could catch a ride with the LSU sisters to Red Cross, did some work there. Then we got picked up by the Bishop’s family and they took us to the ward trunk or treat Halloween party!! I am loving all these parties. My comp is a bit of an introvert so they are making her real tired so pray for her.

Saturday we took Ashley, the little ward missionary, out to try some referrals. Really she took us because she has a car. No one was able to talk. Most were home, but just couldn’t talk. So we tried but didn’t really get anything done. Then we spent a few hours calling people and doing weekly planning. Then we got a call inviting us to a dinner at the stake center. Turns out it was an event for all the temple workers, so there are all these old people who know each other there, and we just sat and ate but it was actually really fun, just a tiny bit awkward.

Sunday was the best!! First, I gave my first talk, which I actually had fun with. Pres and Sister Varner were there so no pressure. And C and her kids came to church!!!! I was so happy! Still am. Her daughter P went to Young Womans, and C sat with us in gospel principles and relief society and loved it. She went to Church a few weeks ago, but I’m so glad she was able to come back. After church we had mission coordination and that is always my favorite. The Marsh’s feed us, and everyone is so happy and sarcastic, but we also really benefit a lot from the meetings and it is such a nice way to spend a Sunday. After that we biked to M's house again, and helped her find her phone that got lost under the couch, and spent almost an hour cleaning her house up. She has way too many clothes.

Well that’s all. Hope y’all are great. I love hearing from you!! I actually have some out of context quotes for y’all! Love you!

“Dress well to avoid chicks and tiggers.”
“I feel bad, they are trying to be French.”
“Don’t vampires rise from the ashes after they go outside?”
“Since when did Jesus sound like Pinocchio from Shrek?”
“The apostle Peter will punch you out!”
